Driver dead after single-vehicle rollover crash near Hagersville

A driver was pronounced dead following a single-vehicle rollover crash on Highway 6 south of Hagersville Sunday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police from Haldimand County say the vehicle was travelling on Highway 6 between Sandusk Rd. and Concession 11 Walpole around 6 a.m. when the driver lost control for unknown reasons and rolled.

Haldimand County EMS transported the driver to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries where they were later pronounced dead.

“Unfortunately, Haldimand County EMS transported the occupant to a local hospital with serious life threatening injuries. Shortly after the occupant was pronounced deceased,” Cst. Abby Whitenect said in a statement.

The highway was closed between Sandusk Rd. and Concession 11 Walpole for several hours on Sunday while police investigated the scene to determine the cause of the accident.

Anyone who may have more information about this crash is asked to contact the Haldimand County OPP.
