Nine chefs from Niagara College will put their skills to the test in a culinary showdown. The team will represent Canada in this months culinary Olympics.
Chefs have spent countless hours in the kitchen practicing and that’s on top of their day jobs. Their next stop is Erfurt, Germany. Niagara College held a send off rally for the team this morning. The nine person crew is no stranger to competition, they won the right to represent Canada in the junior culinary category in 2013 when they beat out other colleges from across the country. A year later they won gold at a competition in Luxembourg.
More than 50 countries will take part. Teams will cook up a buffet and three-course meal during the Olympics, which will be put in front of a panel of judges. The team hopes a Canadian flair will help give them an advantage. You can follow the team’s run for gold online and show their support using the #NCtasteforgold.
