Hamilton Public Health has declared COVID-19 outbreaks at two Hamilton schools.

An outbreak was declared at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Elementary School on Dec. 14.

The Hamilton Catholic District School Board says two staff members at the school have tested positive, one on Dec. 8 and one on Dec. 13.

An outbreak is declared when there are two or more confirmed cases of the virus where at least one case was reasonably acquired at the school.

Three cohorts have been closed by public health and are self-isolating.

Immaculate Heart of Mary remains open.

Meanwhile, Frank Panabaker Elementary School is also dealing with an outbreak, declared by public health on Dec. 15, after two student cases.

The first case was confirmed on Dec. 8 and the second on Dec. 11.

This school also remains open.

A COVID-19 outbreak was declared at Dr. J. E. Davey Elementary School on Sunday.
