Large convenience store chains are calling on the government to allow them to sell beer and wine.

The Liberal government says it isn’t interested in the request from the Ontario Convenience Stores Association, which includes 7-11, and Mac’s, as well as Petro-Canada and Canadian Tire.

Finance Minister Charles Sousa says the Liberals’ plan is to put LCBO outlets in some grocery stores, but won’t allow sales of beer and wine in corner stores.
