Collision on 410 in Brampton leads to armed highway robbery
A minor collision on Highway 410 in Brampton led to an armed robbery by masked suspects brandishing a gun and a knife.
Members of the OPP Mississauga detachment were called to the northbound side of the highway around 8 p.m. Tuesday after a man reported that he was robbed following a collision.
The man was driving just north of Bovaird Drive when his vehicle was struck from behind by a red car.
When he pulled over to check out the damage and exchange information with the other driver a reported two or three suspects then approached him and robbed him of items from his car.
One of the suspects was brandishing what is believed to be a handgun and another suspect was holding a knife.
They then fled the scene, leaving the victim with minor injuries.
Members of the Highway Safety Division Crime Unit are overseeing the investigation and are appealing to the public for information.
Anyone driving in the area at the time who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage is asked to contact the OPP Mississauga detachment at 888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers.
