To Ancaster now, where a water main installation project is taking place along Garner Road in five phases, resulting in various road closures. Many people and businesses are being impacted. This project began earlier this year along Garner Road, and it’s a large project being done in phases. People who live, work, or go to school in this area are dealing with significant delays. A big construction project is having an even bigger impact.

Roxanne Moulden is the owner of 30 Minute Hit Gym at the corner of Panabaker Drive and Garner Road West in Ancaster. She says the construction on Garner has affected her business.

This is all part of a five-phase water main installation project along Garner Road West. In early September, there was a five-week long closure from Shaver Road to Panabaker Drive. Now, what was supposed to be a week-long full closure between Panabaker and Hamilton Drive has stretched into a month. Businesses in this plaza say they’re being hit hard.

The city says weather, soil conditions, and machinery failure have all contributed to the delay.

However, the city says the section of Garner Road between Panabaker and Hamilton Drive is expected to reopen on Monday.
