Clouds part for supermoon eclipse

It was quite the show in the Hamilton sky last night as the clouds parted in many areas of southern Ontario just in time for a total lunar eclipse that darkened the moon’s shine for over an hour.

Making it all the more dramatic was the timing with a super moon — the point of the year when the moon’s orbit brings it closest to Earth.

The next time these two events will coincide is 2033 (the last was December 1982).

This was also the first full moon of the fall season — which is known as the harvest moon.
