On this Christmas Eve morning, are people in the Christmas spirit?

It can be a very busy day for some people getting all the Christmas wrapping done and some people still have to finish their Christmas shopping. The malls have been absolutely packed this week as people are getting their gifts together.

For those who have shopping to do or those people looking for a great deal, the malls are open. Mapleview Mall in Burlington opens at 9:00 and closes at 5:00. Lime Ridge opens at 8:30 and closes at 5:00.

Shoppers may stock up on groceries and liquor today as many stores won’t be back to normal hours until December 27th.

With less than a day until Christmas CHCH’s Nicole Martin asked some Hamiltonians if they’re in the Christmas spirit.

“I’m off and I’m going to have a family dinner. I think it’s going to be the best Christmas ever.”

“I don’t like this weather, but at least it’s warm.”

“It’s a wonderful time of year. We should be like this all year. Absolutely. You know, brings out the good humanity in people.”

“We should be like this, especially the way the world is now, let’s not be negative so much. Let’s, you know, have a little peace in our heart. It will go far.”

It’s absolutely beautiful in Gore Park in downtown Hamilton with all the Christmas lights. If you’re looking for another holiday tradition to start up, amusement park rides and open today, Christmas Eve, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
