Chanthachak inquest begins

The coroner’s inquest into the death of a man, who was shot by a Hamilton Police officer during a stolen vehicle investigation, begins today.

Phonesay Chanthachak died at Hamilton General Hospital in February of 2012, after he was shot by a Hamilton Police officer.

The 27-year old was killed, while driving a van in the Quigley and Albright area. Police were trying to arrest him, after a warrant had been issued, for failing to show up for court that morning. He was facing robbery charges.
