Cayuga girl raising money for children in Haiti in memory of local humanitarian

A 12 year old Cayuga girl is carrying on the memory of Benjamin Cole Brown, a local humanitarian who was killed in a plane crash in October. The girl is raising money to allow children in Haiti to go to school and she’s already achieved one of her goals.

“Cole” as he was known in Haiti, helped build a school in the impoverished country with the humanitarian group “Live Different.” While on a supply run in October, the plane Cole was in crashed during a storm, off the coast of the dominican republic and there were no survivors.

12 year old Madison Domjancic has vowed to carry on Cole’s work. She’s already raised $4800 in raffle ticket sales, and is hoping to raise the same amount fundraising on-line. Cole’s family was on hand at the Cayuga Secondary School today, and are excited that Madison is doing this in Cole’s honour. Benjamin Cole Brown went to this highschool in Cayuga along with Madison’s parents. Madison is only in grade 7 at a nearby school, but she says she’ll continue to give back to others as she gets older

Madison’s is using the on-line fundraising site Canada Helps and her campaign is called “We Can Live Different.” and by this afternoon she had already raised over $2000.
