Canadian auto workers from Ford are voting this weekend on a four-year deal reached with the auto maker this week.
The proposed contract would create new employment opportunities for hundreds of laid off workers. They would also receive a lump sum payment for the cost of living. Rank and file members will be the ones who decide if the deal will go through. Further ratification meetings will be held tomorrow with Ford. The CAW also reached a deal with GM this week, those ratification meetings will be held on Wednesday. The union is yet to reach an agreement with Chrysler, but hopes within a few day a deal can be made.
