VIDEO: Prime Minister Mark Carney is making a noticeable shift in tone when it comes to trade with the United States. Speaking to reporters in Ottawa Thursday morning, Carney said Canada “isn’t taking notes” or “instruction” from the Trump administration in the lead up to the scheduled review of the Canada-United States-Mexico free trade agreement. The comments come after reports suggested the U.S. was seeking concessions ahead of the renegotiation. The prime minister pointed out that while the U.S. says it has so-called “trade irritants” with Canada, our country has some of it’s own. The joint review of CUSMA is set for July 1st and Carney says there are a series of issues that need to be addressed.
