Canadians shouldn’t take sides in U.S. election

Keep calm and carry on. It was a British government expression in advance of the Second World War, but it could aptly describe the feelings of a former Canadian diplomat when referring to the election drama happening in the U.S. right now. Colin Robertson says Canadians have every reason to be concerned about what’s unfolding south of the border, but now is not the time to take sides.  He said Canada should remain calm, consult with its allies and prepare for all contingencies. A new Leger poll indicates three-quarters of Canadians are worried about the election, driven primarily by fear that U.S. President Donald Trump will not accept defeat.
