Canadian women’s hockey team wins gold at Beijing 2022
Canada has captured women’s hockey gold at Beijing 2022 with a 3-2 win over the defending champions the United States.
Canadian captain Marie-Philip Poulin scored twice and Hamilton’s Sarah Nurse added another to secure the win.

The win marks the fifth time Canada has won Olympic gold since women’s hockey was introduced at the 1998 Nagano Games.

Poulin also made history as the first female or male to score in four Olympic gold medal games.
Canada entered the game with a 6-0 record in Beijing while the Americans were 5-1 with their other loss also being at the hands of Canada.
