The Canadian women’s soccer team took on Germany Tuesday afternoon in the semi-finals, trying to earn a spot in the gold medal game. They beat Germany last week on two goals by Melissa Tancredi, but today did not go Canada’s way.

The German squad scored off a penalty kick in the first half, and then booted in another near the 60 minute mark. Canada just couldn’t put anything together this afternoon dropping the game 2-0. Team Canada has one more shot at a medal as they’ll play Brazil on Friday for the bronze.

Our Adam Atkinson watched the game with members of Melissa Tancredi’s family in Ancaster.
