Caledonia pedestrian death

A tragic death on the roads in our region. A woman and dog were killed while out for a walk in Caledonia.

This was the scene in front of the Caledonia Fairgrounds. Police had put a tarp over the victim, and the car involved in the incident was parked at the scene. It was driven by a 23-year old woman from the area. And she is co-operating with police. The woman and dog were crossing the road when they were hit. A crowd of people stood and watched while some family members arrived, clearly and understandably emotional. The investigation is still in its early stages. But we understand the victim lived nearby.
