A Burlington woman is dead following a single vehicle crash on the 403 in Mississauga. Emergency crews were called just before noon to the 403 and 407 split near Winston Churchill Boulevard in Mississauga. A white Jeep was torn apart, the windows smashed. Debris was littered across the highway.

The OPP have identified the 28 year old Burlington woman who was killed in a crash on the 403 as Heather Wende, who also goes by “Ashlee” Wende.

Friends on social media are sharing their condolences for the 28 year old woman, saying she will be missed and that her memory will live on.

OPP have said based on their initial investigation it appears the driver realized at the last minute they were going to miss the exit.

The vehicle hit the guardrail and rolled several times. The 28 year old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, also 28, was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The 403 was closed at Winston Churchill for several hours while traffic was diverted. The highway has since re-opened and the investigation continues.
