Burlington Skyway to see lane closures this weekend

The Ministry of Transportation is set to close two lanes on the Niagara-bound Burlington Skyway bridge this weekend starting Friday night.

The work is weather dependent, and has been postponed a number of times this year.

The lanes of the QEW Niagara-bound are expected to close Friday at 10 p.m., and reopen 5 a.m. Monday.

All ramps from the Eastport Drive Collector to the bridge will be closed as well.

Two lanes of Niagara-bound traffic will remain open all weekend.

More lane work is planned to take place over several weekends over the summer, including:

• July 11 to 14
• July 25 to 28
• Aug. 15 to 18
• Aug. 22 to 25

The ministry says advance signing and notification will be provided to drivers so they can plan alternative routes.
