Burlington Skyway to see lane closures for several weekends this summer

The Niagara-bound Burlington Skyway bridge is expected to see lane closures over multiple weekends this summer for improvement work.

Two lanes of the Burlington Skyway along the QEW will be closed from 10 p.m on the Friday to 5 a.m. on the Monday on the following weekends – excluding long weekends:

• July 11 to 14
• July 25 to 28
• Aug. 15 to 18
• Aug. 22 to 25

The lane closures are weather dependent, and may be postponed.

Drivers are cautioned to expect delays while the lanes are under construction.

Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward posted the lane closure schedule on X just after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Weekend lane closures will be necessary to complete work on the skyway bridge this summer. Planned closure dates (weather permitting) include:

• July 11 – July 14
• July 25 – July 25
• August 15 – August 18
• August 22 – August 25
