Burlington set to OK $312M Joe Brant expansion

The city of Burlington is set to give final approval for a major expansion at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital today.

Approval of a key site plan will let the first phase of construction get underway in the new year. It includes an 850 spot parking garage and a building to house the Halton McMaster family health centre.

Phase two is expected to begin December 2014, and will add new operating rooms, an expanded cancer clinic and about 80 additional in-patient beds.

Total cost of the expansion is set at $312 million.
