Brazen afternoon jewellery store robbery in Toronto mall, 6 at large

Following a string of smash-and-grab robberies across the Niagara-area and the GTA, another daytime jewellery store break-in took place in Toronto on Monday.
The brazen incident happened at Fairview Mall on Sheppard Avenue East around 1 p.m.
Toronto police say six suspects, all wearing masks and gloves, used hammers to smash glass window displays and stole a large amount of jewellery before running off and getting in a waiting car.
The shopping center was bustling will holiday shoppers at the time of the robbery.

While attempting to drive away the car with the robbers inside hit another vehicle then took off and entered a second car.
The driver of the car that was hit was sent to hospital with minor injuries.

The second getaway car was later found by York police but the suspects remain at large.
