It’s a tradition that started 25 years ago.

The Soup for the Soul program at St. Andrew’s church in Brantford provides free meals to those in need five days a week.

On average, the Soup for the Soul program serves 200 people at each meal.

Everyone is welcome, including youth, seniors, the unemployed, working people, and the homeless—no ID is required.

Volunteers started arriving at 8 a.m. Dec. 24 to prepare today’s Christmas Eve meal. They’re expecting to serve over 120 meals today.

Over the year, the program serves more than 34,000 meals.

The meal was partially funded by a $1,000 donation from the Greek community in Brantford.
