Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who tried to rob a convenience store in Brantford Tuesday evening.
Officers responded around 11:15 p.m. for reports of an attempted robbery at a convenience store in the area of Brant Avenue and Church Street.
Police say one suspect wearing a face covering entered the store and demanded cash from the employee.
The suspect was unsuccessful in obtaining any cash and fled the scene on foot. There were no physical injuries to the employee reported.

A K9 unit was deployed in an effort to find the suspect, and the area was closed to local traffic temporarily while the investigation was carried out.
Police were not able to apprehend the suspect, and the investigation is ongoing.
He is described as a male with an average build. He was wearing a light grey coat or zippered sweater, a black brimmed hat, blue jeans, black running shoes, brown gloves, and a black and white scarf covering his face.
