Brantford police dog helps stop man during break and enter attempt

Brantford police say one of their service dogs helped stop an attempted break and enter at a home early Sunday morning.

At approximately 12:45 a.m. officers arrived at a residence on Franklin Street where a man was seen attempting to break in.

The man then tried to run from police but was quickly stopped by a police dog as he was jumping over a fence.

As a result, the 21-year-old Brantford man stands charged with the following offences:

  • Trespassing by Night (four counts)
  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
  • Break, enter a place, commit indictable offence

Authorities say the same man was also involved in another break and enter back in August.
