Brantford police charge two youths, seize replica firearm

Brantford police say two youths are facing multiple charges after a disturbance in the city’s downtown.

On Tuesday evening, it was reported that several youths were antagonizing a man in the area of Dalhousie and Queen streets.

One of the accused is reported to have pointed a firearm at the victim after also throwing ice and snowballs at him.

The people involved in the dispute then entered the lobby of a Water Street building, where they allegedly created a disturbance.

Officers say they found the suspects at a Market Street South plaza where a replica firearm was seized by police.

The victim did not report any physical injuries.

Their investigation revealed that one of the youths, a 13-year-old boy, was in violation of an undertaking.

Additionally, a 15-year-old boy was found to be in violation of a valid court order and a judicial release order.

The 15-year-old boy from Market Street South was arrested, held for bail hearing.

He is charged with:

  • Carrying Concealed Weapon
  • Assault With a Weapon
  • Point Firearm
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Disobeying Court Order
  • Failure to Comply with Judicial Release

The 13-year-old boy from Brantford stands charged with one count of Failure to Comply with Undertaking.
