Brantford high school temporarily placed under lockdown following threat

Brantford Collegiate Institute (BCI) was placed in lockdown after receiving a threatening phone call involving a firearm Wednesday morning.

At around 9:25 a.m., Brantford police received a call from BCI regarding the firearm threat. Out of an abundance of caution, officers placed the school into a lockdown.

Over an hour later around 10:44 a.m., officers determined there was no active threat and the lockdown was lifted. School resumed as normal.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Brantford Police Service at 519-756-7050.
