Brampton man arrested for catalytic converter theft in Hamilton

A Brampton man has been arrested after police overheard someone removing a catalytic converter from a vehicle in Hamilton.
Police were patrolling the area of Parkdale Ave. North and Barton St. East around 2 a.m. Monday.
The officers heard the sound of power tools being used in a nearby parking lot and went to investigate.
Police say they saw a man walking away from a group of cars, holding a bag of tools.
The 32-year-old man was arrested after police found two catalytic convertors and the vehicles’ identification.
He has been charged with theft, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and mischief.
Police say the man has previously been arrested for a similar crime.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing later Monday.
