Boy, 17, killed in daytime North York shooting Monday

Toronto police are investigating after a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in broad daylight Monday afternoon.

Officers have identified the boy as Cashie Auguste of Toronto.

It happened in the Jane Street and Finch Avenue West area of North York just after 3:30 p.m.

Police arrived on the scene after a report of gunshots in the area and located the victim.

He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No suspect description has been released.

Investigators say this is the city’s 24th homicide of the year.
