Bomb threat at Ontario Works building
If you were in downtown Hamilton Thursday, you may have seen a commotion at Main and Wellington.
It turned out to be thanks to two unusual but unrelated incidents.
The Ontario Works central office at 250 Main Street East was evacuated before three Thursday afternoon because of a bomb threat.
Police later said that they searched the building and didn’t find anything suspicious but say there was a written threat.
Around the same time, firefighters were working on putting out a fire on a GO Transit bus right near the Ontario Works building.
The fire was put out, but the bus started smoking again later.
It’s not clear yet what caused the blaze.
