Boeing waits for vote on ‘best and final’ offer to striking workers

Boeing is giving the union representing its 33,000 striking workers more time, but it still wants a vote on its latest contract proposal.

The strike is nearing the end of its second week, with no end in sight.

The company says its “best and final” offer would raise pay by 30 per cent over four years.

Meanwhile, the union is seeking a 40 per cent increase.

Both the union and many of its members have complained that Boeing bypassed the union by publicizing the offer.
