The Hamilton Fire Department says at around 7:45 p.m. Thursday, crews were dispatched to the area of Sherman Ave. North and Rosemont Avenue for a house fire.
Firefighters say they arrived to see visible smoke and flames coming from a bedroom on the second floor of the home at 97 Sherman Ave. North.
Crews worked quickly to bring the blaze under control, as multiple units were called to the scene.
Asst. Deputy Chief Shawn De Jager with the Hamilton Fire Department told CHCH News in a statement that the probable cause of the fire was electrical in nature.
They said one occupant was assessed by paramedics but did not give word on their condition.
It is not known at this time if anyone else was injured from this incident.
Hamilton Fire says damages are estimated at around $100,000.
