Inmate dies inside Barton st. jail

CHCH News has learned the inmate who died this morning is David Gillian. The 46-year-old was most recently arrested this Saturday in Toronto and brought back to Hamilton where he was was wanted for charges including robbery, break and enter and failing to comply with his probation order. Gillian had an extensive criminal history dating back to 1990.

Late this afternoon inmate sources inside the jail confirmed Gillian died but Hamilton Police would not verify his identity. The case is now a coroner’s investigation.
