8 puppies dumped in Grimsby had umbilical cords attached
The Humane Society of Greater Niagara reported on Tuesday that eight puppies were found abandoned in Grimsby, so young that their umbilical cords were still attached.
The pups were discovered in a box on Winston Road and needed to undergo incubation as part of their healing process.
Their breed is not yet determined.
“This is heartbreaking and completely preventable. Animals should never be dumped,” the Society said on its Facebook page.
At the end of November four malnourished puppies were rescued after being found in a box in a Niagara-on-the-Lake park.

The dogs are also being cared for at the Humane Society of Greater Niagara and will be up for adoption soon.
Donations to all of the puppies or other animals in care at the Society can currently be made online, over the phone or in-person.
