As New Year’s Eve approaches, many people plan to attend parties to help bring in the new year.

One of the biggest celebrations in Canada is expected to attract between 50 and 60,000 people at a free outdoor concert in Niagara Falls. Keith Urban, Sean Mendez and Nick Jonas will perform at the show, which begins at 7:45.

There will be fireworks at 8:00 and another fireworks celebration at midnight.

There will be a lot of police in the park, with a portion of the Niagara Parkway closing no later than 7:00. Anyone parking in the lot after that will have to come from the south end of the city.

For the celebrations many transportation systems in Southern Ontario are offering free services today. The Hamilton Street Railway has free bus rides after 6:00, with the last bus after 1:00; GO Transit and St Catharines buses will also be free.
