60-year-old St. Catharines man faces child pornography charges

Niagara police arrested a St. Catharines man Thursday and charged him with offences related to possessing child pornography.

Detectives from the Internet Child Exploitation Unit of Niagara Regional Police began an investigation in May into the sexual exploitation of children over social media.

Officers executed a search warrant at an apartment in St. Catharines and seized a number of digital devices capable of storing data.

60-year-old James Douglas Kramer has been charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, one count of accessing child pornography, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

Kramer was scheduled to attend a bail hearing at a St. Catharines courthouse Friday.
