Police have charged five people accused of stealing 14 new Ford Edge vehicles from outside an assembly plant in Oakville this month.
Halton police say the thieves cut a large hole in the exterior fence surrounding the Fort Motor Company plant in Oakville overnight on Jan. 7 and Jan. 8.
Officers say the group allegedly stole 14 new vehicles worth approximately $630,000.
Following an investigation, police were able to recover 12 of the 14 stolen vehicles at various locations in the Greater Toronto Area.
Investigators arrested Tom Thibault-Levesque, 35, of no fixed address and Barbara Veronica Rachwal, 36, of Mississauga on Jan. 9 in Mississauga.
Thibault-Levesque has been charged with four offences, including possession of a prohibited weapon and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Rachwal was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. She was released on an undertaking.
One day later, investigators in Scarborough arrested 34-year-old James Park of Bowmanville and 33-year-old Kamorey Mitchell of Brampton.
Park is facing three charges, including two counts of a controlled substance. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Mitchell was charged with three offences, including breach of weapons prohibition. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police also arrested 42-year-old Joseph Wells of Rockwood, who was also charged last week with dozens of drug and firearm-related offences.
Other arrests in relation to this investigation have been made by neighbouring police services, however no charges in connection with the initial break-in have been laid.
