The 407 ETR has announced that a four-year rate freeze is set to expire in the new year.
All other fees will remain the same, including the deposit for a transponder, monthly or annual leasing fees and disputing fees.
The new rate schedule will come into effect on Feb. 1, 2024.

Rates for travelling on the 407 are typically adjusted each year.
Light vehicles can expect to pay up to 11 cents more per kilometre on average. Rates increase and decrease based on what time of day it is.

In February 2020, rates were frozen just as commuter traffic on the roadway was nearly cut in half due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
By 2020, the recorded daily average on the highway was 291,267 cars for the month of February. The following year, that number had plummeted by more than half — to 139,933 per day.
