403 crash claims Hamilton bylaw officer

A Hamilton bylaw officer was killed in a head-on crash this weekend on Highway 403 in Burlington.

Ryan Powless, 29, of Hamilton died after his car was hit by a pickup truck going the wrong way on the eastbound 403. A transport truck also hit the car after the initial collision.

A 20-year old Etobicoke woman, a passenger in the car, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The pickup’s driver, Ricardo Cabral, 35, of Brampton, faces seven charges, including impaired driving causing death.
