2 sent to hospital following severe collision in Pelham

Two people have been taken to hospital following a severe collision in Pelham Wednesday night that forced the closure of Highway 20 for several hours.
Niagara EMS says emergency responders received a call about a crash around 9 p.m., where two vehicles reportedly collided at the intersection of highway 20 West and Maple Street.
One person was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the other was transported to an out-of-region trauma centre.
A freelance reporter tells CHCH News that it took around 20 minutes for one of the individuals to be cut out of their car after being trapped.
Highway 20 remained closed for several hours as police investigated, but has since re-opened.
