2 people dead, 2 others injured in 3-vehicle collision in Mississauga

Two people are dead and two others are injured after a collision last night on the Queen Elizabeth Way in Mississauga.

Ontario Provincial Police said the two-vehicle crash happened around 10:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes at Cawthra Road.

Officers said a third vehicle then collided with the stopped vehicles.

Paramedics confirmed two people were pronounced dead at the scene.

One person was taken to a trauma centre in critical condition and another person has minor injuries.

The QEW was closed for several hours in both directions between Dixie and Cawthra as OPP investigated, but reopened around 5 a.m. to traffic.
