A Delta Air Lines flight arriving to Toronto Pearson International Airport from Minneapolis on Monday has reportedly crashed upon landing. Peel Regional Police confirmed to CHCH News they received multiple calls about the incident shortly after 2 p.m.

Paramedics in Peel originally told CHCH News nine individuals were treated following the incident. Some were transported to hospital care by ambulance, and at least one person was airlifted from the scene.

Delta Air Lines says at least 18 passengers were injured.

“Initial reports indicate there are no fatalities and 18 customers with injuries have been transported to area hospitals,” Delta officials said.

Additionally, Ornge emergency services confirmed their involvement.

“Three air ambulance helicopters and two of our Critical Care Land Ambulances have responded,” Joshua McNamara from Ornge said in an emailed statement Monday afternoon.

“One pediatric patient has been transported to The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto with critical injuries.”

McNamara also said a man and woman were taken from the scene for further care, and are in critical condition.

Photos from social media show the aircraft on its roof on the tarmac.

In a post on X, Toronto Pearson officials said they were “aware of an incident upon landing,” and that emergency crews were on scene.

The post also said all crew members and passengers had been accounted for.

Delta Air Lines has responded, saying in a post of their own they are “working to confirm any details.”

Flights were grounded in the time immediately following the incident, but activity resumed as normal as of 5 p.m.

Canada’s Transport Minister, Anita Anand, says she is “closely following” the situation, and that the Transportation Safety Board has deployed.
