OPP officials opened an investigation after a two-vehicle crash in Norfolk County resulted in one driver being taken into custody Wednesday morning.

Responding officers say they arrived on scene on the Port Dover lift bridge at around 8 a.m. where a pickup truck crashed into a sedan. Both drivers sustained minor injuries.

Officers say one of the two drivers was taken into police custody following a sobriety test administered on-site.

The pickup truck driver, Kara Pepper, 35, was charged with driving while impaired, driving while under suspension, and for possessing an undisclosed amount of drugs which were found at the crash.

Hamilton Plank Road was closed between John and St. Andrew Streets while OPP investigated. All roads have since reopened.
