Toronto Police have charged alleged serial killer Bruce McArthur with an eighth count of first-degree murder.

The alleged victim has been identified as Kirushna Kumar Kanagaratnam.

At a news conference Monday morning, police said his remains were found on a Leaside property linked to McArthur.

Kanagaratnam moved to Canada from Sri Lanka.

Police allege he was murdered in 2015 and was not reported missing.

Kanagaratnam’s photograph was released by investigators last month.

At the time, police said this was a “last resort” to identify him.

Last week, police laid a seventh murder charge and announced they were expanding the McArthur investigation to include cold case homicides as far back as 1975.

Most of the victims went missing from or had ties to Toronto’s LGBTQ community.

Police say they plan to search at least 70 more properties where they believe the 66-year-old self-employed landscaper has worked.
