Baby girl in critical condition after being pulled from Burlington pool

A one-year-old girl is in critical condition after being pulled from a backyard swimming pool in Burlington.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Kevin Cres. shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday for reports that a child had drowned.

Paramedics and police quickly arrived on scene and attempted life-saving measures. The baby was transported to hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Halton police say the girl’s mother was home at the time of the incident but they do not know how long the child was in the pool.

The investigation is ongoing.
