Lanes re-open after fatal 403 crash

(Updated) Police have reopened westbound lanes of the 403 in Ancaster after a deadly crash.

Traffic is starting to flow after a five and a half hour closure that backed traffic all the way up to Highway 6 North.

A 59 year old Toronto woman was killed when the pickup truck she was riding in rear ended a tractor trailer, while trying to pass another vehicle.

The male pickup driver was taken in for questioning.

OPP Sgt Dave Woodford says the incident is “still under investigation, the collision, we’re still doing technical reconstruction here at the scene. Cleanup right now. But it has been an impact on traffic both eastbound and westbound lanes. ”

Police don’t expect to release the victim’s name until tomorrow.
