Monk charged with sexual assault

Windsor police have charged a local monk in a historical sexual assault case.

It’s alleged that the monk sexually assaulted a six-year-old child on multiple occasions about two years ago. The alleged incidents occurred at the Khemara Buddhist Temple and police say they are concerned there may be other victims.

Thirty-eight-year-old Then Phan of Essex County is charged with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference and one count of an indecent act.
