A Halton police officer is recovering in hospital after he was hurt during a pursuit of a stolen SUV.

It happened yesterday afternoon on the 407 in Burlington. The officer’s injuries include a concussion, broken ribs and bruising. Police say an officer attempted to stop the stolen vehicle and there was a crash involving the police cruiser and the suspect’s car. The 39 year old driver of the stolen vehicle was arrested after a brief foot chase.

He’s been identified as James Arthur Warner of no fixed address. He’s now facing a number of charges including dangerous drive causing bodily harm and possession of stolen property.
