OPP have charged two doctors with fraud after officers executed search warrants at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Police allege that two oral surgeons were billing O.H.I.P. for assisting at surgeries when they were not present and/or adding insured billings to surgeries.
Shortly after the investigation started, Dr. George Sandor relocated to Finland. A warrant for his arrest was issued on January 13, 2014 for Fraud Over $5000 at which time the OPP Anti-Rackets Branch immediately began to work with Finnish authorities in an attempt to locate and arrest Dr. Sandor.
Sandor was apprehended by police on January 20, 2016 in Oulu, Finland. He was escorted by the OPP back to Canada in February where he was released on a Recognizance of Bail with conditions.
The total value of the three counts of fraud laid against Dr. Sandor is in excess of $68,000.00. His next court date is March 31st at Old City Hall, Toronto.
On March 2, 2016, Dr. Cameron Clockie was arrested in Toronto and charged with Fraud Over $5000. He was released on a Recognizance and an undertaking with conditions.
The total value of the two counts of fraud laid against Dr. Clockie is in excess of $139,000.00. His next court date is March 21st at Old City Hall, Toronto.
