An update to a story we first told you about last week. A 39 year old man and teenaged girl who are facing human trafficking charges.

39 year old Courtney Rocker, of Toronto is facing multiple human trafficking charges.

16 year old Hamilton girl, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act is also facing charges.

It all started with 4 teen girls who willingly entered into the world of prostitution on their own.

The 16 year old girl who police believe recruited 3 other 16 year olds girls from Hamilton into the sex trade.

In the beginning of January all 4 girls willingly posted pictures of themselves on an internet escort site advertising sexual services. they all went from Hamilton to Niagara Falls to meet clients at a number of different hotels.

The dynamic changed on the weekend of the NBA All-Star Game in february when all 4 girls went to Toronto.

Police say the accused controlled one of the girls with drugs and alcohol and forced her to provide sexual services and say the man also sexually assaulted her.

Police believe one of the other girls is also a victim but hasn’t come forward. the 4th teen was not in the hotel room when police arrived.

Since 2014 Toronto Police have had about 450 cases of human trafficking and rescued about 74 victims. They say this is a major problem in this Country and it’s Canadian girls who are the victims.

Three of the four teens were highschool students in Hamilton. the girl who’s been charged was not in school.

Police say no hotels are immune to the sex trade and say Niagara Falls is a hub for prostitution.

Police were originally called to the hotel after they say Rocker used a fraudulent credit card.

Police say it is not unusual for a teen girl to recruit other teens into the sex trade and say it happens in schools, malls, clubs really anywhere.

Police say a hot spot for recruiting teen girls is Canada’s Wonderland. Police say one girl can make a pimp over 200 thousand dollars a year.

If convicted, Courtney Rocker could get a minimum of 5 years in jail and the 16 year old teen girl could get anywhere from a a few days to two years in jail.
