Teens using less drugs
It seems Canadian teens are taking fewer drugs, and smoking and drinking less.
The declines are relatively small, but researchers out of the University of Waterloo say the results are still significant.
They found the percentage of teens who have ever tried smoking fell to 15.5% between 2010 and 2011, the lowest since the monitoring of teen smoking began.
45% of students in grades seven through 12 said they had drank alcohol.
That’s down from 53%.
Marijuana use saw a 6% drop to 21% of teens.
